CES 2024 is ongoing, bringing a slew of new announcements and product debuts to drum up excitement. Not looking to be left behind in the excitement, AMD has unveiled several new pieces of PC hardware, include new desktop processors and GPUs.
Perhaps one of the most exciting announcements from AMD is the upcoming launch of its next-gen desktop processors, which the company says are designed for "extreme PC gaming and creator performance."
AMD claims the desktop processors are optimized for efficiency with a low power draw while never sacrificing performance or responsiveness. This new series includes the Ryzen 7 8700G with eight cores, 16 threads, 24MB of Cache, and built-in Radeon 780M graphics. The mid-grade Ryzen 5 8600G will offer six cores, 12 threads, 22mb of Cache and embedded Radeon 760M graphics. Both processors come with AMD AI software, which will help optimize workloads.
AMD also debuted a new series of graphics cards, the AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT, which will offer high-end gaming at 1080P for just under $350. This card comes with 16GB of high-speed GDDR6 memory, and will utilize AMD's AI software to help deliver exceptional frames and performance, the company claims.
The Radeon RX 7600 XT will include 32 computer units, 64 AI accelerators, 16GB of memory, and a game clock of 2.46 GHz, with up to 2.76 Ghz of boost clock speed. The card will be available from leading AMD partners like Acer, ASRock, ASUS, and XFX, with a recommended purchase price of $329.
Each of these new pieces of hardware only help to expand AMD's offerings, which have continued to push Nvidia and Intel to deliver better and more affordable options for PC users around the world.
